Please be mine, valentine.

I know you have all been dying to hear what Mike got me for valentines day, well here it is... NOTHING! No, I'm totally just kidding. He actually got me a 18 carat gold bracelet. I'll take a picture of it later and post it on facebook but it is absolutely beautiful. He always knows what to get me :)

My favorite valentines gift this year though was from a very special little four year old in my life, Huck Paisley (Brad Paisley's son) Kim and Brad took him to the store and he got me roses that he picked out himself then he told his mom what to write on my card from him. Such a cute lil guy. He has the biggest crush on me ever <3

While I was visiting Brad and his family last week, we were all sitting in the living room and all of a sudden Huck said  ‘Carrie, watch!’ And he pushed the pillows off of the couch with both arms and held them above his head and he said, ‘Look how strong I am!’” I could just steal this lil guy and take him home with me.

I've been having quite the struggle with hooking electronics up lately. Mike and I bought two flat screens the other day and I managed to hook those up but when it came to hooking the wii, satellite, and internet up... COUNT ME OUT! I'll scream and pull my hair out if you make me do that. All those cords make me crabby.. I can never put them in the right place. And don't say it's simple, cause it isn't for me. That's why I have Mike, he did all of it last night.

Mike has a game against Chicago tonight. Good luck cupcake. I love youuu <3

Designing was never my strong point

I just added a poll to the top of my blog only to discover you can hardly see it due to my background... Maybe if y'all squint hard you'll be able to make some letters out and be able to vote... Mike's tux just doesn't seem to agree with the black font... men always mess things up :)

I also discovered something else that was pretty cool on blogspot or blogger or whatever this site is called today, Taylor Swift's mama is on here. Definitely following her on here now. Her name is Andrea Swift. She's posted a few times, you should go check it out.

Beautiful dinner. Beautiful great nephew. Beautiful life.

This has been a crazy busy week for me and I'm sorry if this blog post looks bad because I'm doing it from an app on my phone but anywhooo...

As all of you already know, Mike got hit in the face with a puck at one of his games recently that I attended. Even though I was a complete wreck, I managed to stay in the stands and not go onto the ice to wreck the person who had hurt my hubby. Mike returned the ice later that night to score his first goal as a Predator. Guess the puck hit him in the right place... not funny, I know.

After Mike's game the other night we enjoyed a quiet beautiful dinner at a restaurant in downtown Nashville called The Palms. Quite lovely to enjoy some time to ourselves and talk about our week and such.

Mike had quite the cheering section at one of his games last week too! I was there along with my nephew Cody, his wife Asia, and their little baby Ridge Becket who is only about a month and a half old. Ridge is too cute though. I could steal him anytime all the time. Mike got to meet Ridge for the first time and hold him. Cutest thing ever to see this 6 ft tall monster holding an infant. Ridge seemed to take a liking to Mike, guess I have competition when it comes to my great nephew.

I've been in the studio everyday this week so far. We already have a few songs recorded but we're far from deciding if they'll make it onto the album yet or not. And the moment you've all been waiting for.... Brad Paisley and I did do a duet together and it will be on his album which I believe comes out in May. You'd think id know all these important dates by now!

Mike and I have sooo much to do here in Nashville. I sit here looking around at all of these boxes and bags and ugh, it, makes me sick. If you want to sit anywhere, you have to sit on the floor... and if you would like a clean dish feel free to go through the boxes till you find one. I'm not good at decorating however, Mike is believe it or not. He designed and decorated our whole house back in Ottawa so ladies, if you ever need help... you now know who to contact!

The dogs have a new obsession with the microwave. They like to sit in front of it, stare at it and then bark at it when it's on. A little strange if you ask me but who am I to judge. If it keeps them from peeing on the carpets and Ace from tearing open bags of dog treats and eating them all, then I will not complain one bit.

He just had to bring up what Ace's little doggie farts smelled like

It went something to the extent of...

Mike: "Ace, did you fart again? Man, that doesn't even smell like a normal one. What is wrong with you? Lets go outside or you're not sleeping in my bed"

I, on the other hand start to choke from laughing and spit out tea all over the kitchen counter. What an attractive sighting for my husband to see.

I still have tears in my eyes.

Sigh, never a dull moment in this household.

What am I going to do with these crazy boys in my life? Good thing I have my little girl Penny to help me keep them in line.

First time for everything...

This is my first blog that the whole world can read. Usually, I only blog on the official fan site page and only members can see it but I've decided it's time for a change. You all have been so supportive over the past few years that you all deserve to see into my life a bit.

The time off for the past month has been perfect :) I got so very blessed to have met Mike. He's the sweetest guy I've ever met. There's nothing better than waking up to the smell of my husband making me breakfast and coffee. Even though sometimes he does drag me out of bed long before I tend to get up. Sometimes he even cleans the house a little (shh, don't tell him I said this)

But now that I've had my time off it's time to get back to the studio to work on my fourth album!! Exciting, I know :D I spent a week or so in LA working with my writers there and I am now in Nashville waiting for my next writer to arrive here so we can get to work. Excuse the fact that I'm sorta jumping around a lot. So much to talk about!

Mike getting traded to Nashville is a good thing. We were both sad to hear that we would be leaving Ottawa, ya'll welcomed me with wide open arms but Nashville is better for our marriage. I now get to see him everyday and be a good hockey wife and attend almost all of his games from now on except for when I'm out of town or have a show. Mike is enjoying himself so much so far and the team has been very welcoming especially Shea Weber.

I finally saw my great nephew for the first time, Ridge :) My nephew and his wife live in Tennessee and I just am always so terrible at getting around to see people. Ridge is absolutely precious. All the lil guy wanted to do was cuddle in my arms and give me those lil gas smiles that we all can't help but adore. I hope to get around to seeing my family more this year (that was my new years resolution) However, I always fail at these sort of things so we'll see how that works out for me.

We haven't quite decided what we'll be doing with the house so far, more than likely, keep it. Mike will be spending most of his summers in Ottawa to see family, friends, and help out. Even though he's a Predator, he still looks forward to being part of the community and helping out all that he can and I can imagine no one will object.
